The Breakthrough Houses story
Breakthrough Houses was launched in 2008 by Sydney couple, Rick and Kerry-Ann.After fostering in excess of 300 children.
There was a gap in the system for an alternative solution, to rehabilitate the whole family. This is done by teaching them the life skills they lack to be responsible, strong and healthy. Today Breakthrough Houses operates 4 houses in Sydney and accommodates whole families and assists them to become productive, effective families.

Achievements of our residents
Resident R came to us straight from prison. Poor choices had been his families legacies. He decided that something had to change. Today 'R' is managing a retail store, married and actively reaching out to inspire and help those in tough times.
Resident 'J' came to Australia as a legal refugee fleeing a worn torn country. He brought two very young siblings with him. Unable to speak English they were vulnerable and overwhelmed. Today 'J' is a qualified nurse and regularly feeds the homeless in Western Sydney. One younger sibling has also graduated as a nurse and the youngest is a prefect at a Sydney select school. The youngest sibling has pioneered an outreach to young people struggling with mental illness.
Resident J.T. recently graduated with a diploma in Music. The first of his whole generational line to complete a tertiary education.
Two of our residents are in the process if completing tertiary education. The first in their whole generational line to attempt higher education. These residents also reach out to teens trying to find their path.
A family came into care due to the real prospect of being homeless due to a string of unforeseen life challenges. Today they are thriving, and becoming financially independent and strong.
